Temporary ferry terminal for jetty

The Ports de les Illes Balears' board of directors has approved a project for an access road to the jetty at Son Blanc and another for a provisional ferry terminal.

The new access road will connect the jetty with the Ronda Sur and Ciutadella town centre and will cost 1.28 million euros.

A temporary ferry terminal will be constructed ready for passengers when the jetty becomes operational next year. The 2.89 million euro terminal will comprise a single storey building of 2,094 sq.m., constructed under the car park, which should be completed within six months. The Balearic government has opted for a temporary construction to save time on the paperwork necessary for a permanent fixture.
