I would like to thank all the people who have supported the Pages over the years, and have helped to make the job so enjoyable, and my work colleagues for their friendship and company.

Special gratitude is owed to Pam Dyke, Hazel Martin and John Nunn, the substitutes who stood in for me during my holidays; to Frederik Naumann/Erdmann who has contributed many articles over the years and also Bryce Lyons who has kept us informed of the activities of the Asociación Menorca Britannia. Thanks also to the advertisers who have supported the Pages, in particular Bonnin Sanso who have backed the Pages since their inception. To the Honorary British Consul, Deborah Hellyer, MBE, who has always been at the end of the telephone to provide information or offer advice and, last but by no means least, you the readers, without whom the last twelve years would have had little meaning.

A time for new projects

Sometimes it is necessary to stop in order to make changes and decide on our future projects. In this case, after publishing the English Pages for twelve years, the economic situation has forced us to take a break and rest for a while, with the intention of returning with new proposals for the English residents in Menorca.

Our journalist Christine Watterson, and those who have helped her during these years, has done a good job bringing island news to the English readers and providing information on the British community's activities.

The reduction in governmental financial contributions and the drop in income from advertising has made it necessary to suspend the English edition for a period.

In any case, Editorial Menorca's intention is to boost the newspaper's presence amongst the English residents in future. For this reason, we will work on new projects in order to achieve a better result and service for our readers.
