Ángel Robles, a 36-year old Bolivian who has lived in Maó since 2004, was this year's winner of the Ses Vinyes Shopping Marathon Prize, consisting of 4,000 euros to spend within three hours in shops in the area, with a maximum bill of 200 euros in any one outlet.

Amongst his 'purchases' were three bank accounts, each to the maximum value allowed, which will go towards a long-awaited visit to his wife and 8-year old daughter in Bolivia. Presents for friends and family followed plus bread and sweets for the old people's home in Maó. Food, clothes and shoes were added to the basket plus a few luxury items and, finally, 50 euros for a glass of cava with his helpers for the day.
