The winners in each category, and receiving 18 points, were: Category 1, handicap 0 to 10.4 - Pedro Sintes; Category 2, handicap 10.5 to 26.4 - Pere Font; Men's Scratch - Pedro Sintes; Seniors - Juan Seguí; Ladies' - Janet Marí.
A total of nine competitions will be held, one per month (except May, July and August), the next one being a medal competition on Saturday, 28th February.
At the end of the year the seven best results for each player will be counted to determine the winners, of which there will be three in the Ladies' section and five in each of the other categories.
Menorca wins 7 medals in Regional Games
The Balearic Open Championships held recently in Palma resulted in seven medals for Menorcan athletes: 2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze. Ángela López, from Ferreries, took the gold in the 200 metres and the silver in both the 400 metres and 60 metre hurdles. Rafel Quintana (Alaior) won gold in the 1,500 metres and silver in the 3,000 metres, Marina Bagur (the youngest competitor) finished third in the 3,000 metres and Lluis Coll won a bronze for a jump of 5.87 metres.
